Trainings for health workers in the South to prepare for the COVID-19 outbreak of Delta variant
In September 2021, the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research in collaboration with Vietnam Respiratory Society and the HCMC Political Academy conducted online trainings for health workers in the South to prepare for the COVID-19 outbreak of Delta variant.
Training programs were tailored made to address specific needs for health workers at commune health posts, and at district and provincial hospitals. The training course has participation from about 54 health facilities, including 3 private facilities (1 international clinic) from 16 provinces.
Training for commune health post staff included information on management of Covid patients at home and in the community, identification of severe Covid cases to refer to high level hospital, establishment of mobile health care team in community to response to high load of Covid cases, IPC. Training for district and provincial health workers included information on dDiagnosis and treatment of Covid patients (moderate and severe conditions), use of some specific drugs, such as Remdesivir, Molnupiravir… and IPC.
